Hello, ahoy, and welcome aboard a very special and super exciting episode of Under the Waves. Andrew and Michelle are joined by Jeff Koch, Coordinator and Program Manager at the Superior Watershed Partnership and Land Conservancy as well as caretaker of the Stannard Rock Light! Jeff has been a part of the SWP for about 9 years and in that time has organized numerous trips out to the Stannard Rock in the name of science and bettering a historical landmark. He talks to us about the importance of conservation efforts for the lakes, how you can get involved (yes, you!), the crazy adventures it sometimes takes just getting to the lighthouse, and so much more. Tune in as we kick off Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend talking with the man, the myth, the legend behind taking care of one of the coolest (and loneliest) lighthouses on the Great Lakes.
